Concept of neighbourhood and community is refreshing and challenging way. Neighbourhood in conventional meanings of ' neighbour' or 'people of a street' and Community means a network of people with common interest and the expectation of mutual recognition, support and friendship ( Hugh Barton, 2002). According to Islam, the neighbour also means the members of the 40 homes that surround each corner of the individual home. It is as the hadith narrated by Abu Daud, the Rasullullah S.A.W. has said: Meaning: "Forty permanent houses as neighbours. So it means the people around there.

Sustainable means the ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs ( University Of Notre Dame). “Sustainable communities live in social, cultural and physical environments in which needs and aspirations can be satisfied without diminishing the chances of future generations (Fritjof Capra, 2002). Depending on all definition above, sustainable neighbourhood and community is very important subject to think in our generation. The concept of Sustainable Neighbourhood and Sustainable Community designed in various ways such as in life, business, economic, physical, structural, and technology so as not to interfere with the natural inherent ability to sustain life.

Sustainable district planning aims to accomplish long-term socially, environmentally and economically feasible communities by focusing on governance. It means well manages of neighbourhoods with effective and inclusive participation, representation and leadership. The communities want minimize and limitation of the mobility uses. So the good transport services and communication linking residents to their work places and services (health, education, recreation, commercial areas etc) so it assure as many of their needs as possible within walking distance from their homes. The good of public transport infrastructure can help to limitation of car use. Environmental is very important, so must to providing the opportunity for people to live in an environmental friendly way such as low energy consumption or passive buildings, minimised waste generation, recycling, use of natural and environmental friendly materials, minimising water consumption etc). It means the people in that residential area can enjoying the clean and safe surroundings. The economy must to branch out and rousing. The services should availability of public, private, community and voluntary services which are accessible to all residents. The equity of sustainable is fair for each resident and for both present and future generations. that means people can afford to buy house and the services provided reasonable price and all the public open spaces accessible to all. Create the diverse community through a mix of housing types employment opportunities, shared community activities by all mix generations. Such as Taman Tunas Damai, In Sungai Tiram. All the types of houses in one area, so all activities share together and it create the diversity in that area. The residential area should keeping separately residential areas from industrial and commercial quarters to get the quality of life.
